1. Get and prepare the seeds
Take seeds from the grapefruits and carefully extract them with a tip of a knife or fingernails. Then, put the seed in a container filled with water and let them soak for twenty-four hours. Also, don’t forget to put away all the seeds that don’t sink. On the next day, drain the remaining seeds and put them inside a small container accompanied by wet peat moss. Since one tablespoon of peat moss is adequate for up to fifty seeds, make sure the number of seeds and peat moss is equal. After that, leave the closed container in a refrigerator with thirty-five to forty degrees Fahrenheit for three months.
2. Sow the seeds and accelerate the germination process
After three months, open the container and plant the seeds about three times their length in a flat. Make sure the flat has drainage holes on the bottom and provide one and a half inches space between each seed. Since grape seeds germinate well in long-day conditions, put the flat under a light about sixteen hours in a day and keep the seed-starting mix damp. Additionally, drop the temperature into sixty degrees Fahrenheit if it reaches seventy during the day.
Then after harvesting the seed, try to put the damp grape seeds in a muslin bag and place it in running water. If necessary, you can tie the bag to make sure the water will not sweep it away. This process is essential to accelerate the germination process. As a result, the seeds can start to roots in eight days.
3. Feed the seedlings
When the seedlings grow and have two sets of leaves, you can transplant each of them into a pot with a four-inch diameter. Then, fill them with eight parts potting soil, one part pumice, and one part sand. After moving all the seedlings, you can begin to feed them with fertilizer. In the first month, give a mixture of one tablespoon 2-3-1 fertilizer and one gallon of water. For other months ahead, raise the amount of fertilizer about two tablespoons with one gallon of water.
After six weeks, you can transplant each seedling into a 1-gallon pot. When the grapevines reach about six leaves, it means that this plant is ready to grow outdoors. Moreover, to adjust the vines with outdoor conditions, make sure to set their pots in a shady position for a few hours and take them back indoor. Then, shift them gradually to get more sunlight.
4. Plant the seedlings
